student mentors for inclusion of young people with disabilities

The PHARES/PHRATRIES mentoring programme with student mentors in the 2020/2021 academic year group

For its first year, a group of ultra-motivated volunteer students threw themselves into assisting students with disabilities via the PHRATRIES & PHARES mentoring programme.
Throughout the academic year, the mentors prepared and provided personal development sessions based on confidence, self-esteem, oral presentation skills and how to shape your future.
The 2020 academic year boasted 16 Audencia students trained by the FEDEEH in disability awareness and running workshops during the first national PHARES & PHRATRIES meeting. This laudable scheme pays witness to the commitment to solidarity displayed by the school’s students.
New partnerships are currently being created with junior and senior high schools in the Nantes urban area to mentor pupils in their last five years of secondary school, either in specialised classes or in the conventional school environment.
The aim of this mentoring is to meet the needs of these young people in terms of professional integration and further learning.

Students on the “Actor in Energy Transition” Specialised Master® assisted the region’s key players

The “Actor in Energy Transition” Specialised Master® proposed jointly by Audencia, Centrale Nantes, ENSA Nantes and the Design School uses teaching methods based on real issues. Within this framework, between October 2020 and January 2021, the students worked on several major projects submitted by key players in the region. The Crédit Agricole Atlantique-Vendée bank called on them for its financing, insurance and consulting offering in favour of energy transition. The Réalités Group asked them to look into how to promote the energy performance of its constructions to its customers. The Nantes Métropole urban authority tasked them with examining the communication tools conducive to greater commitment to energy transition by medium-sized, small and very small businesses. Lastly, DRO (Dirigeants Responsables de l’Ouest ), an association of responsible directors in Western France, worked with them to identify the financing needs that would enable it to achieve the ambitions of the various projects launched by this association to accelerate energy transition and solidarity in our region. During a 3-month period, the students established benchmarks and questioned various stakeholders in order to propose concrete solutions to the contracting parties. Some of these projects are continuing via internships.

The Social cup at Audencia

For the first year, the students took part in the adventure of the Social cup, a French cup competition for young social entrepreneurs created by KissKissBankBank, makesense and La Banque Postale, in partnership with the GRDF Foundation. This 6-month adventure included meetings to discover social entrepreneurship, a creative marathon to get things moving and an invitation for projects in 12 cities, including Nantes, for all socially or environmentally useful ideas.

On 19th November 2020, the 7th edition of the Social cup set up camp for the first time at Audencia for a digital event on the theme: “Discovering and discussing social entrepreneurship”. All the school’s students were able to participate in this fun and interactive workshop organised by Léa Rittersheim (from makesense). In addition, Romain Launay, from student association ENACTUS and Stéphane Monod, co-founder of grain and a GE15 graduate, spoke with sincerity and answered the students’ questions. Audencia then encouraged its students to take part in a giant creative marathon and three collective innovation evenings to bring out impactful projects. To finish the adventure, the student entrepreneurs / project promoters present in the Daring Contest were invited to sign up for the national Social Cup competition to represent Nantes. This wonderful partnership will be renewed in 2021 for the 8th edition of the Social Cup!

Objective for 2021

RESPONSIBLE INFORMATION

To enable our students to master the fundamental issues related to information, to acquire a critical eye and an ethical stance necessary for their future professional life.

Technological acceleration, changes in usage, multiplication of producers and channels for disseminating information… the digital revolution has plunged individuals and organisations into an unprecedented information bath. We have never had access to so much information at once and, paradoxically, we have never felt so uninformed. The issue of information is strategic for managers and companies, which must seek to have better control and to enhance its value for their audiences.

Audencia is committed to making “Responsible Information” a part of all its programmes from the start of the 2021 academic year, through a variety of measures: awareness-raising on the problem of misinformation, inspiring conferences, revisited fundamental courses, a toolbox to fight against fake news, dedicated electives, etc. The goal is to make our students responsible managers who are in control of their information and ambassadors of these good practices in their personal and professional environment!
